Dramatic Skyscapes with DJ
Come and join us for an entertaining evening with this engaging artist, learning how to achieve those dramatic skies we aspire to create.
DJ is an independent freelance artist, developing his style initially within the commercial world. More recently as a tutor, running classes, and workshops, and writing articles for art magazines.
“Painting outdoors ‘en plein air’ is simply the best way to really immerse yourself in a landscape and connect with your subject… Back in my studio, I will then use these ‘Plein air’ studies as reference for colour, tone and light, and my photos for composition and detail”.
David will demonstrate a variety of techniques using palette knives, brushes and figures to achieve a wide range of texture and patterns found in nature, namely a Dramatic Skyscape

DJ likes to paint in oils, but his techniques and style can be applied to acrylics too.
